Dependent Care
Resources to help employees meet their child and elder care needs.
Dual Career Resources
Resources for candidate and new hire spouse/partners seeking employment in the area.
Flexible Work Schedules
With supervisory approval, some flexibility in the starting time of work and lunch breaks is permitted, provided that the business needs of the office and University are met.
Local Food Options
Interested in eating locally grown, nutrient-dense food? A CSA is essentially a subscription to a farm or other local food supplier in which super fresh, seasonal food (produce, eggs, dairy, meat, etc.) is delivered to you straight from the source. While you’re supporting a local farm and eating healthier, you’re also reducing your carbon footprint.
W&L Employee Resource Group (ERG) Program
The Provost’s Office and Human Resources have partnered to create Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to foster the development of meaningful connections and community amongst employees.
Wellness Program
Washington and Lee is committed to a work environment that promotes healthy lifestyles, enhances the quality of life, and decreases the risk of injury and disease. Through health promotion, educational programming, and a full array of athletic and recreational facilities, employees have unique opportunities readily available. Offerings include Weight Watchers @ Work, Group Exercise Classes, use of the fitness center, campus walking map, quarterly challenges, etc. Incentives are available for employees and their spouse/partners who participate in various aspects of the wellness program.
