Ruth joined the Office of Lifelong Learning in 2019. In addition to her work with W&L’s Alumni College and W&L's award-winning travel program, Ruth has developed a number of digital offerings including W&L’s virtual book club and our W&L After Class podcast series. When she’s not traveling with W&L alumni, her life includes hiking, gardening, and enjoying a craft beer or two.
Jim Goodwin serves as the Senior Digital Media Producer for the office of Communications and Public Affairs. He has been producing After Class since 2020. In addition to being a podcast enthusiast himself, he also curates a blog called Christmas Underground about underground Christmas music.
Sara joined W&L's Communications Office in 2022. She previously worked as a journalist at various newspapers and magazines in her hometown of San Diego, California. Along with the W&L After Class podcast series, Sara writes and edits a wide range of university publications, including the triannual W&L Alumni Magazine. Out of the office, she spends her time thrift shopping, attending concerts and searching for the best taco shop in Virginia.
Kelsey is a writer for W&L’s Office of Communications and Public Affairs. She has been a part of the Washington and Lee community for over twelve years and is excited to join the ‘After Class’ team. Kelsey spent 12 years in Student Affairs at W&L, most recently serving as Director of Student Activities. In her spare time she is a traveler, yoga instructor, and parent.
Eric Owsley is the Director of Communications for Admissions and Financial Aid. A 2001 graduate of W&L, Eric has been a member of the W&L staff since graduation in various capacities in Communications, University Advancement, and IT. Eric enjoys podcasts that highlight the remarkable natures of things often overlooked – from the lives of everyday Americans to the intricacies of the human brain to almost anything that has to do with plants, trees, and fungi.
