Sea Kayaking

February Break

Students on an Outing Club trip in Lake Phoenix

Trip Description

We’ll depart from Everglades City and kayak into Everglades National Park where we will paddle through mangrove islands and camp on sand beaches or on elevated wooden chickees out in the middle of the water. Sea Kayaking will allow us to glide quietly through this subtropical environment where fresh water meets salt. Vast rivers of sea grass and mangrove help support this environment, which is filled with alligators, manatee, roseate spoonbills, bald eagles, egrets, and so much more. We have paddled with dolphins and reef sharks. Students have fished, paddled and slept on deserted beaches in one of the most amazing wilderness locations in the United States.

This is one of the best trips we do all year! No experience required- adventurous spirit and good attitude a must!

Guide, transportation, and equipment (paddles, sea kayaks, tents, stoves, etc.) are included in the trip.
