The Joseph Franklin Ellis Newspaper Scholarship was established for students demonstrating a career interest in newspaper journalism.
Landon B. Lane Memorial Scholarship in Journalism
The department’s most prestigious award, the Lane Scholarship is granted to a journalism major who shows evidence of strong academic achievement and genuine promise in the field of journalism.
Clark R. Mollenhoff Award
The Clark R. Mollenhoff Award recognizes an outstanding journalism major at Washington and Lee University who shows unusual journalistic promise and by providing a stipend to enable that student to undertake a project of professional or academic merit.
