Primary Care
Lindley Health providers offer a wide array of primary care services including treatment of acute illnesses, injuries, suture care, women’s health care, travel health, allergy shots, onsite limited pharmacy, certain immunizations, some point of care lab testing, and many other services. Infirmary Care
Lindley health has six infirmary beds for students who are ill and need assistance with nursing care while they recuperate. Examples include influenza, norovirus, vomiting due to other reasons, post operation recovery, post hospitalization recovery.
Health Insurance
Washington and Lee University requires all full-time students to be covered by a health insurance plan. Students have the option of purchasing the Washington and Lee University-sponsored Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan underwritten by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company. All international students will be enrolled in this plan. All other undergraduate and graduate students will be enrolled in this plan unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished each year.
Costs
Lindley Health will submit a bill to your health insurance for provider and nurse visits, minor procedures, and immunizations. We do not collect copays and do not “balance bill” if the insurance does not pay. We charge a fee to help cover our costs for medications dispensed from our pharmacy, over the counter medications, medical equipment, and in house lab tests. You can pay these costs by credit card, Pay Pal, or by swipe card to your student account.
