This message is a Notice from the VP for Student Affairs & Dean of Students:
Thank you to the many students, faculty and staff who attended the candlelight vigil in memory of Cade Gold '20 on Sunday evening. We now have further details on a memorial service and additional opportunities to express condolences to Cade's family.
Students will be in the Elrod Commons Living Room from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Friday, collecting notes to Cade's family and memorial gifts.
A public memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. in Red Lion, Pennsylvania. The service will take place at Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion. It will include an opportunity for anyone that wants to speak about their experiences with Cade.
Students who are interested in attending the memorial service and are in need of transportation should contact Kelsey Goodwin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dallastown Area Educational Foundation, c/o Ashley Spector, 700 New School Rd., Dallastown, PA 17313 for the Cade Gold Scholarship to benefit Dallastown Football and Lacrosse players.
Cade's obituary is available online.
I also want to reiterate our ongoing support for the campus community at this difficult time. Counselors are available for students at the Student Health Center (540-458-8401). Information on peer counseling is available on our website. If staff and faculty would like to speak to a counselor, please contact the free, confidential Carilion Employee Assistance Program at (800) 992-1931.
