The Office of the Provost accepts nominations for the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC) Harris Awards Program by March 1 each year. These faculty awards recognize an outstanding faculty member for each of the following programs:

  • H. Hiter Harris, Jr. Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching
  • H. Hiter Harris III Rising Star
  • H. Hiter Harris III Excellence in Instructional Technology

Each program carries a $2,500 award.

Nominations from previous years are welcome, if they are updated with recent information.
