Boardman Family Study Abroad Endowment Fund

The Boardman Family Study Abroad Endowment Fund was established in 2011 by James R. Boardman '65 and his wife Hsiao-lien.  It is a permanently endowed fund at Washington and Lee University that provides annual travel assistance to students who travel to East Asia for study abroad and internship opportunities. Although preference is given to students traveling to China and Japan, the award can be given to deserving students traveling to other parts of Asia. The award amount varies based on funding availability, financial need, and the cost of the Study Abroad programs. The fund is administered by the Department Head of the East Asian Languages and Literature Department in close consultation with the Dean of the College and the Director of International Education.

Application Deadline: The application deadline for this scholarship for all possible semesters of study or internship will be a single date: November 15 of each year (If November 15 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the application form is due the following Monday).  Interested students should contact the  EALL Department Head with questions or for more information.
