The Department of Theater, Dance, and Film Studies offers support for summer internships, masterclasses, and training programs through the Todd D. Jones and Cynthia D. Klinedinst funds. These off-campus experiences enhance students’ academic and experiential growth outside of the classroom and provide opportunities that might not otherwise be possible.
Todd Jones Scholarship
Description
The Todd Jones ’85 Memorial Scholarship was established in 1999 by family and friends to honor the memory of Todd Jones (1963-1996). Preference is given to students with a demonstrated interest in music and drama. Award recipients receive funds for a travel study experience that will enhance their own artistic development and thereby strengthen the performing arts on campus.
Finally, recipients of Todd Jones award must attend the Arts Award Ceremony at the end of the school year. Also, they must share their experience with their peers in the form of a presentation in the Fall term, and write a thank you letter that will be given to the contributors of the Todd Jones fund.
Cynthia D. Klinedinst Scholarship
Description
The Cynthia D. Klinedinst Fund for Theater, established in 2007 by a gift from Cynthia D. Klinedinst, supports the teaching and performance of theater, both in and outside the classroom at Washington and Lee University. A portion of the fund is awarded annually to theater majors or minors with particularly meritorious internship projects to help defray travel and living expenses. This fund is limited to theater students.
Finally, recipients of Klinedinst award must attend the Arts Award Ceremony at the end of the school year. Also, they must share their experience with their peers in the form of a presentation in the Fall term, and write a thank you letter that will be given to the contributors of the Klinedinst fund.
To Apply
