The MAZE Program
The Washington and Lee University Admissions Office is pleased to announce an important opportunity for the children and grandchildren of W&L alumni: Finding Your Way through the College Admissions Maze. This year’s program will be held on June 14-15, 2025.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of an anonymous friend and benefactor of the University, Washington and Lee has created a program designed to advise and inform families with children approaching college age about the intricacies of the college search process and the important steps in gaining admission to highly selective colleges and universities.
Offered every other summer, the program is available to any child or grandchild of a W&L graduate who is entering the 10th, 11th or 12th grade, with priority given to rising 11th and 12th graders. Sessions are led by highly experienced and respected college admission professionals who will encourage you to think carefully about the college selection process in a structured, yet relaxed and informal environment. In addition to the important counseling focus on choosing the right college, participants will also learn about the other side of the coin: how university admissions offices evaluate applications, especially in a test-optional landscape.
We believe that this program represents an extraordinary opportunity for members of the W&L family either to begin or to enhance the college search, and we hope that you will choose to participate.
