Feb. 24, 2026: Share Your Input: Washington and Lee Presidential Search

Dear Members of the W&L Community,

On behalf of the Presidential Search Committee, I invite you to share your perspectives on the qualities and qualifications you believe are important for the next President of Washington and Lee.

Today, we launched a brief community survey open to all students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the university. Your input will help guide the search and will be compiled by our partner, Isaacson, Miller, for review by the search committee.

In addition to the survey, we will host listening sessions for students, faculty, and staff, along with focus groups with volunteer leaders representing alumni and families.

The selection of a new president is an important moment in the life of the university, and we hope that each of you will take this opportunity to be part of the process.  What we learn from the survey, listening sessions, and focus groups will help shape the leadership profile that we share with prospective candidates.
