About the Exhibition

Illustrator Juanjo Gasull is based in Valencia, Spain, but his imagery echoes with worldwide significance. Gasull creates editorial illustrations for publications including the New York Times, The Atlantic, NZZ Am Sonntag, The Economist, and other global media. Gasull’s work is defined by a focus on simplicity and conceptual clarity. His illustrations often explore communicative ideas through minimal color palettes and textured compositions, with a strong emphasis on storytelling. He is particularly interested in making images that invite viewers to question what they see and to consider alternative perspectives.

Gasull studied Art and Illustration at Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi, Spain. Shortly after, he began working in the publishing industry in Paris, where he honed his skills as an illustrator, focusing on creating images for the press. Gradually, his freelance career grew, and he went on to work for major international newspapers and magazines, a position he continues to hold today. This is his first gallery exhibition in the United States.
