Missing Student Notification Policy

This policy is established by Washington and Lee University in compliance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008. This policy applies to all students at Washington and Lee University.

Protocol for Mandatory Reporting of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect

Under Virginia law all Washington and Lee employees (including student employees) eighteen years of age or older must report child abuse and/or neglect that they suspect or become aware of in connection with any University activities and operations, whether the abuse or neglect is believed to have occurred on or off campus.

This policy applies to all Washington and Lee University employees (including student employees) who are eighteen years of age or older.

Tobacco/Vaping Policy

Smoking, including e-cigarettes/nicotine vapor, smokeless tobacco, other nicotine, and cannabis products, is not permitted inside or within 25 feet of any campus buildings, including classroom buildings, administrative buildings, student residential buildings, Greek and theme-housing, dining areas, University Store, athletic facilities, or University-owned or rented vehicles. Electronic smoking devices or other tobacco/nicotine products should be discretely stored while not in use and such devices should not be charged in public spaces. The University also prohibits the sale and promotion of tobacco/nicotine products on campus.

University Guidelines for Dogs on Campus

This policy applies to all students, faculty, and staff employees, as well as anyone else on property owned, leased, or otherwise controlled by Washington and Lee University. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Failure to do so can result in exclusion of the dog from campus.
