Campus Locations

Cap’n Dick Smith Field boasts three handicapped parking spaces directly behind the Student Activities Pavilion. To enter this area, take the access road off West Denny Circle that passes the Duchossois Tennis Center and the Student Activities Pavilion. A paved path with a slight grade leads from the handicapped parking to the Smith Field concourse, which provides ample area for watching games.

Parking for the Duchossois Athletic and Recreation Center is in the University Parking Garage, which features 14 handicap-accessible parking spaces. The garage has four levels, with accessible parking available on each level. The garage can be accessed from street level (Level 1) via East Denny Circle, or on the top level (Level 4) from Warner Drive. Level 1 has one space located directly in front of the North elevator. Level 2 and Level 3 have four spaces each, two directly in front of the North elevator and two directly in front of the South elevator. Level 4 features two spaces adjacent to the South elevator and three spaces immediately to the right of the garage entrance from Warner Drive.

A handicap-accessible entrance to the Duchossois Athletic and Recreation Center is available on street level directly across Warner Drive from the entrance to the parking deck. This entrance is swipe-access only (university-issued ID) during traditional operating hours. Visitors are encouraged to contact W&L Public Safety at 540-458-8999 upon arrival to assist in gaining entry to the facility.

Once inside, the first level of the facility features a long hallway with an elevator at the end, near the golf practice area. For entry to Holekamp Gymnasium, Doremus Gymnasium and the Athletic Hall of Fame room, take the elevator to the fourth floor. The fitness center and athletics offices are accessible from the third floor, while the press gallery, which includes a handicap-accessible lift chair, is located on the fifth floor.

Visitors expecting to meet with the Financial Aid staff are encouraged to contact the Office of Financial Aid before their visit to arrange for an accessible meeting location. The Financial Aid Office can be reached at 540-458-8717. 

Visitors to the Gilliam Admissions House are encouraged to park in one of five handicap-accessible parking spaces located along Generals Lane. Three are located directly behind the Ruscio Center for Global Learning (100 Stemmons Plaza) and two more are located between the CGL and the Hotchkiss Alumni House (128 Letcher Avenue). A level sidewalk extends from both of these locations to an on-grade entrance to the Gilliam Admissions House.

Visitors to the John W. Elrod Commons are encouraged to park in one of two locations: the University Parking Garage (95 East Denny Circle) or in the vicinity of the Ruscio Center for Global Learning (100 Stemmons Plaza) and the Hotchkiss Alumni House.

The University Parking Garage features 16 handicap-accessible parking spaces. The garage has four levels, with accessible parking available on each level. The garage can be accessed from street level (Level 1) via East Denny Circle, or on the top level (Level 4) from Warner Drive. Level 1 has one space located directly in front of the North elevator. Level 2 and Level 3 have four spaces each, two directly in front of the North elevator and two directly in front of the South elevator. Level 4 features two spaces adjacent to the South elevator and five spaces immediately to the right of the garage entrance from Warner Drive.

The Elrod Commons is accessed from the University Parking Garage by a series of ramps and footbridges. The first ramp connecting the garage to the University Footbridge features a moderate incline. Once reaching the footbridge, a level footbridge traverses a ravine to the Commons entrance. An accessible switchback ramp provides an accessible entrance near The Marketplace, Stackhouse Theater and the WLUR Studio. Upon entering the facility, an elevator is located next to the Marketplace entrance on the left.

Visitors seeking to avoid the moderate incline from the parking garage can do so through the Duchossois Athletic and Recreation Center which offers street level access directly across Warner Drive from the entrance to the parking garage. The entrance is swipe-only access (university-issued ID) during traditional operating hours. Visitors are encouraged to contact W&L Public Safety at 540-458-8999 upon arrival to assist in gaining entry to the facility. Once inside, walk to the end of the hallway for access to the elevator. Take the elevator to the third floor and exit the building adjacent to the fitness center. Take the sidewalk along the side of the building and along Cannan Green. Entrance to the Elrod Commons is on ground level from Cannan Green.

Additionally, there are five handicap-accessible parking spaces in the vicinity of the Ruscio Center for Global Learning on Generals Lane. Three are directly behind the CGL and two are located directly between the CGL and the Hotchkiss Alumni House. Travel to the Elrod Commons from this location provides level ground via Stemmons Plaza and sidewalk access. Entrance to the building is on ground level and the elevator is located to the right of the main entrance by the spiral staircase.

The Lenfest Center provides several handicap-accessible options. Visitors to the facility are encouraged to utilize the handicapped parking spaces (two spaces) in the parking lot to the rear of the building (the main lot in front is cobblestone). This lot is accessed from Nelson Street (Route 60), directly across from the University Parking Garage. Guests will enter the building through the double glass doors to the right of the small courtyard. Directly inside is an accessible ramp leading to the Philip Morris Lobby where an elevator is present. The facility includes two elevators for guest convenience when accessing the myriad theaters and galleries within the space.

A secondary option is available for drop-offs and pickups in front of the Wilson Hall portion of the Lenfest Center. As many as three vehicles can use this location along McLaughlin Street. A concrete sidewalk leads to a set of double doors that provide building entry, and upon entering, an elevator is located to the immediate left.

Visitors to Leyburn Library are encouraged to park in one of two primary locations. One handicap-accessible parking spot is available on Generals Lane, located to the rear of the building. The library entrance from this location is swipe-only access (university-issued ID) during traditional operating hours. Visitors are encouraged to contact W&L Public Safety at 540-458-8999 upon arrival to assist in gaining entry to the facility.

Additional parking is available directly behind the Ruscio Center for Global Learning (three parking spots) and near the Hotchkiss Alumni House (two parking spots). A level sidewalk extends from these locations to Stemmons Plaza, which provides a level entrance to Leyburn Library. Once inside, elevators provide access to each level of the building. 

The Natatorium is available via several handicapped parking locations. The primary handicapped parking (one space) is located at the rear of the facility where Lewis John Avenue ends. Alternative handicapped parking is also available in Augusta Square (two spaces), though this does require traveling a short distance through the the Village.

Visitors to the natatorium enter through the handicapped-accessible entrance underneath the white pergola adjacent to the Village. This door will be unlocked during university-sponsored events and is swipe access only (University-issued ID) during traditional operating hours. Visitors are encouraged to call Public Safety at 540-458-8999 if the doors are locked.

The pool gallery is accessed from this top level and wheelchair-accessible seating is available along the top of the gallery seating area. The pool deck is accessed from the lower level, which can be reached via elevator access in the lobby area. 

There is no reserved seating; however, patrons may call the box office at 540-458-8000 to reserve wheelchair-accessible seating. Assisted Listening Systems are available in both the Keller and Johnson Theatres, as well as the Wilson Concert Hall. Please see the house manager at least 15 minutes before curtain to sign out a receiver.

Visitors to the Reeves Museum of Ceramics are encouraged to park in one of five handicap-accessible parking spaces located along Generals Lane. Three are located directly behind the Ruscio Center for Global Learning (100 Stemmons Plaza) and two more are located between the CGL and the Hotchkiss Alumni House (128 Letcher Avenue). A level sidewalk extends from both of these locations to several on-grade entrances to the Reeves Museum of Ceramics. 

Visitors to the Ruscio Center for Global Learning (CGL) are encouraged to park in one of five handicap-accessible parking spaces located along Generals Lane. Three are located directly behind the CGL and two more are located between the CGL and the Hotchkiss Alumni House (128 Letcher Avenue). A level sidewalk extends from both of these locations to an on-grade front entry to the building. 

Three handicapped parking spaces are available in the parking lot to the south of the Duchossois Tennis Center. A slightly above-grade sidewalk leads from the parking area to the front entrance of the facility. If you require assistance navigating this grade, please contact Public Safety at 540-458-8999. The spectator viewing area is available on the second floor and is accessible via a small lift elevator located adjacent to the staircase to the left of the main entrance.

Visitors to Tucker Hall are encouraged to park in one of five handicap-accessible parking spaces located along Generals Lane. Three are located directly behind the Ruscio Center for Global Learning (100 Stemmons Plaza) and two more are located between the CGL and the Hotchkiss Alumni House (128 Letcher Avenue). A level sidewalk extends from both of these locations to a level and handicap-accessible front entrance to Tucker Hall. Upon entering, an elevator can be found on the right, just past the staircase. 

Visitors to W&L’s Upper Tennis Courts will park in one of four handicapped parking spaces in the parking lot east of the Wilson Field grandstand, nearest the Washburn Tennis Courts and the University Footbridge. The lot is accessed from Frank Parsons Way. After parking, visitors will follow the sidewalk into the tunnel underneath the Wilson Field grandstand. Roughly 2/3 of the way underneath the stands on the left side is a black steel gate. Pass through this gate to access the Wilson Field elevator. Level two provides access to the Wilson Field concourse, which includes restrooms and views of the various individual courts.

The W&L Turf Field provides two handicap-accessible options. For field and lower stands access, visitors will park in one of two handicapped parking spaces within the lower first-year parking lot at the south end of the W&L Turf Field. Visitors can access this location from West Denny Circle. A short distance from the handicapped parking is the lower entry to the grandstand.

A second option provides for viewing at the top of the grandstand. There is a single handicapped parking space located in front of the concessions and restroom facility servicing both Watt Field and the W&L Turf Field. This location is accessed from Larry Stuart Avenue and is connected to the top of the grandstand by numerous paved walkways and sidewalks.

Visitors to W&L’s Washburn Tennis Courts (Lower Courts) will park in one of four handicapped parking spaces in the parking lot east of the Wilson Field grandstand, nearest the University Footbridge. The lot is accessed from Frank Parsons Way. After parking, all visitors will have accessible views of the Washburn Courts from the sidewalk, the top of the hillside and the University Footbridge.

Visitors to Washington Hall are encouraged to park in one of five handicap-accessible parking spaces located along Generals Lane. Three are located directly behind the Ruscio Center for Global Learning (100 Stemmons Plaza) and two more are located between the CGL and the Hotchkiss Alumni House (128 Letcher Avenue). A level sidewalk extends from both of these locations to Stemmons Plaza, which provides a level and handicap-accessible entry to the building from the rear. An on-grade entrance is also available from the front of the Colonnade. An elevator is located a short distance from either point of entry. 

Visitors to the Watson Pavilion are encouraged to park in one of five handicap-accessible parking spaces located along Generals Lane. Three are located directly behind the Ruscio Center for Global Learning (100 Stemmons Plaza) and two more are located between the CGL and the Hotchkiss Alumni House (128 Letcher Avenue). A level sidewalk extends from both of these locations to the on-grade front entrance to Watson Pavilion. 

Wilson Field features a small parking lot with four handicapped parking spaces just east of the main grandstand, nearest the Washburn Tennis Courts and the University Footbridge. The lot is accessed from Frank Parsons Way. After parking, visitors seeking accessible seating in the home stands should follow the sidewalk into the tunnel underneath the Wilson Field grandstand. Roughly 2/3 of the way underneath the stands on the left side is a black steel gate. Pass through this gate to access the Wilson Field elevator. Level two provides access to the concourse overlooking the field, while level three has direct access to the press box and the McLaughlin Suite. The concourse includes accessible seating and access to restrooms and concessions. The visiting stands are accessible by a sidewalk with a slight grade.
