Professor Frimpong joined the Williams School faculty in 2023 with a Ph.D. in information systems. He teaches data analytics and visualization with a particular emphasis on storytelling and ethical decision-making, helping students develop both technical skills and critical thinking.

His primary research focus is on venture financing through decentralized platforms, particularly crowdfunding in emerging markets, where he uses data and text analytics to understand digital legitimacy, values, and motivations driving entrepreneurial activities in resource-constrained contexts. Currently, his work investigates critical questions around AI and entrepreneurship, including how artificial intelligence reshapes trust and credibility in digital markets and whether AI can democratize access to capital for entrepreneurs.

His research has been published in leading journals including Information Systems Journal, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, and Journal of Business Venturing Insights. Professor Frimpong is a recipient of the inaugural Kaufman-AIS Entrepreneurial Innovation Fellowship for his work in digital entrepreneurship.

As a Ghanaian scholar, he brings a unique global perspective to his work and is passionate about how information systems can promote entrepreneurship and social welfare worldwide.
