What role does acceptance play in counseling?

Counseling is a place to explore who we are, where we come from, and the world around us. It offers a space where we can feel a sense of belonging – where our experiences, identities, and emotions are seen and valued. Accepting both ourselves and the circumstances that impact our day-to-day frees us to pursue change because we are no longer held back by anger, resentment, or the belief that we have power over things outside of our control.
