Associate Director of Career and Professional Development, STEM Lead

Heather joined the Career Development team in August of 2022 and serves as the Associate Director of Career and Professional Development - STEM Lead. She works with and advises students across all phases of their career journey, such as through self and career exploration, networking and self-branding strategies, and graduate school, internship, and job application preparation. Heather assists students from all majors and interests but has expertise in science, healthcare, technology, and data.

Heather received a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Business from Indiana University and a Ph.D. in Social Psychology, with an emphasis in Health psychology from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining the Career and Professional Development team at W&L, Heather served as a faculty member in Psychological Science departments at several universities, including Washington and Lee (2016-2018) and Indiana University, where she also served as a career and graduate program advisor to the department’s psychological science and neuroscience students.

Heather lives in Lexington with her partner Charlie and their fluffy family, Obi (aka the fluffiest dog around), Riker (second fluffiest dog around), and Tiberius, their recently rescued stray kitten.
