Biography

Dr. Adam Scales is the Associate Director of Academic Success in the Harte Center for Teaching and Learning. In this role, he oversees programs that support student learning, including academic coaching, peer tutoring, and academic support initiatives.

Prior to joining W&L, Adam worked at Arizona State University as a Lead Academic Coach and Faculty Associate, and at the University of Surrey as a Learning Development Advisor and Teaching Fellow. Throughout his career, he has been committed to supporting students’ academic and personal growth in college.

Adam is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation and a Certified Learning Center Professional (Level 3) with the International College Learning Center Association. In 2026, he was awarded Academic Coach of the Year by the Association for the Coaching and Tutoring Profession.
