Chin teaches courses on health and inequality, belonging, sociological social psychology and other unique topics in sociology. Her research focuses on group processes that surround status and group cohesion, with a specific focus on social identities and belonging in college.

Research
Group processes and social psychology. I am interested in how organizational task and work structures can impact intragroup impressions and processes, such as the development of intragroup cooperation, solidarity, status hierarchies, and the formation/enhancement of social stereotypes. I am interested in how social structure influences the interplay between individuals and groups.
