WLUR to Broadcast 2016 Mock Convention Student team to host gavel-to-gavel coverage from the Warner Center

WLUR will broadcast Washington and Lee's 2016 Republican Mock Convention live from the Warner Center on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13.

Student broadcasters will present WLUR's coverage of the four convention sessions, featuring audio from the floor, analysis of the proceedings and the Republican race, and interviews with convention speakers and other guests.

WLUR's Mock Convention weekend will begin with a preview show at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12. The opening session is slated to start at 1:30 p.m. The station will continue its coverage on Friday evening and during both Saturday sessions.

Featured speakers for the Mock Convention include two-term Vice President Dick Cheney, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, U.S. Rep. Bob Goodlatte, and Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin. For the full event schedule, please visit the convention's web site.
