WLUR Staff Reveal 2015 Top 10 Lists CHVRCHES, Courtney Barnett, Destroyer selected as the year's best records

WLUR station staff have announced their Top 10 albums lists for 2015, with CHVRCHES, Courtney Barnett and Destroyer chosen as the best records of the year.

Music director Austin Frank '17, the host of "Generally Eclectic", selected Every Open Eye, the sophomore LP from Scottish electropop trio CHVRCHES, as his favorite album of 2015. Assistant music director Shaun Soman '17 ("Saturday Night Shuffle") tabbed the debut LP from Australian artist Courtney Barnett, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, as his No. 1, while station manager Jeremy Franklin '04 ("Stockholm Syndrome") pegged Canadian troubadour Destroyer's Merge issue, Poison Season, for the top spot.

Destroyer also finished No. 1 on WLUR's Top 150 Albums chart, which was compiled based on airplay on the station throughout the calendar year. Poison Season was followed in the top five by Purity Ring's Another Eternity, La Luz's Weirdo Shrine, Father John Misty's I Love You, Honeybear and CHVRCHES. View the full station chart here.

One album, Grimes' Art Angels, was featured on all three individual lists. Soman and Franklin had four more records in common: Barnett and Destroyer appeared on both, as did Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly and Royal Headache's High.

Check out the lists from Frank, Soman and Franklin below.
