About Beta Alpha Psi

Beta Alpha Psi is an international honor organization for students who have displayed academic excellence in the study of accounting and financial information. Founded in 1919, there are currently over 300 chapters on campuses around the world with more than 300,000 members initiated since the club's formation.

Washington and Lee began the petitioning process to become an established Beta Alpha Psi chapter in 2014, and W&L's chapter is now the Nu Mu chapter.

Beta Alpha Psi's purpose is to prepare students to participate in the professional business environment by providing exposure to current accounting and financial issues, technical applications, and professional and social activities.

Beta Alpha Psi strives to encourage a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility in its members. Its mission aligns well with the values of Washington and Lee. The chapter's goal is to enhance the learning experience of our members by creating a forum where students can learn about careers, participate in service, and practice their leadership skills. Membership in Beta Alpha Psi makes Washington and Lee accounting students more marketable and valuable in the business world.
