First-years, sophomores and juniors who are interested in careers in accounting can take a one-day trip to Washington DC over Reading Days (October 12). This trip will allow students to visit with accounting firms to get a more in-depth look at what working in an accounting firm might be like.
The schedule for the day will be as follows:
9:00 Bus leaves Lexington
12:30 Arrive at EY
Talk to the people who work in the public accounting firms. Learn what they do. Tour EY. Work on your interviewing skills. Lunch will be provided. Sponsored by Baker Tilley, Cohn Reznick, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC.
4:30 Free time at Tysons Corner Mall (dinner on your own)
7:00 Bus leaves for Lexington
The sessions will cover different areas (Audit, Tax, and Consulting/Advisory) and go into an overview of the profession and its relationship with regulators. This day will provide a very comprehensive look into the accounting industry! Do they have the kind of jobs that you are looking for?
