The Williams School of Commerce, Economics and Politics
Economics majors possess analysis and writing skills that are valued by firms in the private sector and by government agencies. Economics is also excellent preparation for admission to graduate schools including the study of law. Admission to the most prestigious programs offering a Masters of Business Administration requires a few years of work experience, and this is a route taken by many graduates of Washington and Lee who have majored in economics.
Students work closely with faculty members and the Career Services office in the counseling and interviewing process. Contacts established through summer jobs and internships along with opportunities provided by the network of Washington and Lee alumni help students secure exciting jobs upon graduation.
