Adviser Approval Obtaining Adviser Approval for Registration

All students must meet with their major adviser prior to registration, and only the adviser can mark you 'approved for registration' in the computer. Only one major adviser approval is needed. Do not wait until your 7:30 a.m. window opens to contact your adviser. Schedule an appointment with your adviser well in advance of your registration window. Respect your adviser's deadlines and requirements for approving you for registration and don't leave this to the last minute. Although only one major adviser approval is required by WebAdvisor, students with multiple advisers are encouraged to meet with all of their advisers prior to registration to receive appropriate guidance for the upcoming term.

You may check that adviser approval has given on the WebAdvisor "Holds and Registration Approvals" screen (see screen shot below). You also receive an automatic email notification when approval is given. If these notifications are missing, then you will not be able to register when your window opens.

Only your adviser, or the department head of your adviser, can give approval for you to register when your window opens.

If you don't have approval when you begin registration, you will see the following error message: You are not eligible for registration. PLEASE SEE YOUR ADVISER FOR APPROVAL TO REGISTER.
