Jeffery Kenneth Cook, B.A., Class of 2001 Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award Biography

Jeff is from Carterville, IL, and majored in politics. He was - unusually - elected President of the Student Body as a sophomore, and fought successfully to strengthen and reform the Honor System through the White Book Review Process and to convince the Board of Trustees to include sexual orientation in the University's non-discrimination policy. Jeff served as a dorm counselor and was elected president of the Alpha Chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa. He received the Rupert Nelson Latture Award for outstanding leadership as a sophomore and was named winner of the Pinney Prize by the Student Affairs Committee for enriching the intellectual atmosphere of the University.
