Dane Ethan Boston, B.A., Class of 2008 Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award Biography

Dane's hometown is Dunedin, Florida. While at W&L, he majored in English and also studied in the Shepherd Poverty Program. Dane is a Bonner leader with over 700 hours in community service over a two-year period. He was involved in the Campus Kitchen program, and served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir of the R.E. Lee Episcopal Church. On campus, Dane worked in campus ministry through the Canterbury Club and was president of the University Chamber Singers. One of our faculty members said that "there is something intrinsic about Dane that tends to draw out the best in people around him." In recognition of his contributions and accomplishments, Dane was selected as a member of both Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa, and was awarded the Edward Lee Pinney Prize, the Maxwell P. Wilkinson Scholarship, and the Dabney Stuart Prize. Dane will serve as a Head Dorm Counselor for Alumni College this summer before he heads off for his first year at Yale Divinity School in August.
