Fall 2019 Registration Schedule (Sep.) for Faculty and Staff

July-August Registration for returning students is open for changes. New transfer, reinstated, and exchange students can register for classes.
Thu, Aug. 15 All off-campus study, AP, IB, and other external credit should be received by the University Registrar's office for evaluation in time for fall registration (important to have required prerequisites on student record)
Wed, Aug. 28 Returning student waitlist offers suspended at midnight (will resume on Wed. Sep. 4)
Thu, Aug. 29 Returning student registration closes at midnight (will resume on Wed. Sep. 4). New transfer and exchange students can continue with registration through drop-add, although there is registration hiatus during the first-year registration period (resumes Wed. Sep. 4).
Fri, Aug. 30 Department heads adjust active course limits, as needed - open all available seats to FYs.
Tue, Sep. 3

Departments to enter all placement test results into Colleague by early afternoon. University Registrar's office defaults adviser approval for FYs to register for 'Pick One' and then removes that approval prior to Wed.

Advising Meeting for all FY advisers, Stackhouse Theater 9:00 a.m.

FY/New students trained on Student Planning registration by University Registrar's office staff.

FY students attend the Academic Fair, and meet with their advisers over lunch and afternoon.

FY students build planned sections if they have not already done so.

Placement test scores available in Student Planning by early afternoon.

FY registration for "Pick One" course (up to 4 credits, e.g. lecture + lab) opens at 3:30 p.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m.

Waitlist processes suspended during this time, FYs cannot add to waiting lists.

Wed. a.m. Sep. 4

FYs meet with advisers when their registration window opens (at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00 or 11:30). Their window is noted on their Student Planning 'Plan & Schedule' screen.

Advisers must give WebAdvisor authorization for FYs to register, one at a time in case a FY does not show for appointment. Registration stays open until the end of drop-add.

Waitlist processes are suspended at this time - FYs cannot add to waiting lists.

Wed. p.m. Sep. 4

At 12:00 noon, FY students can add to waiting lists.

After 12:00 noon and before 5:00 p.m., department heads adjust active course limits, as needed. Faculty manage waiting lists, if desired.

FY students without full-time load meet with deans in the Commons Chavis Board room between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to complete a full-time load.

At 5:00 p.m., registration for returning students opens and stays open through drop-add.

At 5:00 p.m. waitlist offers begin.

Thu. Sep. 5 First day of fall classes
Sep. 4-11

Drop-add open for all students. Waitlist processes in effect.

Departments adjust active course limits, as needed. Faculty manage waiting lists, if desired.

Tue. Sep. 10 Waitlist offers end at midnight.
Wed. Sep. 11 Ugr registration changes (drop-add and pass/fail declaration by students) through Self-Service Student Planning ends at midnight. All paper overrides for fall term registration must be turned in by 4:30 p.m. to the University Registrar's office.
Thu. Sep. 12 Late registration changes require paper drop-add form with signatures of adviser, instructors, and dean, plus $100 late fee.
Thu. Sep. 19 Drop with record in effect. Late registration changes require petition to Faculty Executive Committee, and if approved, requires paper drop-add form with signatures of adviser, instructor, plus $100 late fee.
Fri, Dec. 6 All paperwork related to AP, IB, transfer, summer course work, previous winter/spring off-campus study must be in the University Registrar's office.
