Professional Development Opportunities for the World Language Educator
The Foreign Language Teachers Workshop Series (FLTSW) continues its teacher professional development opportunities under the umbrella of the Foreign Language Association of Virginia (FLAVA) and the Virginia Department of Education's Professional Development Framework. Fall 2015 and Winter/Spring 2016 workshops are being scheduled now. Check back for workshop topics, workshop leaders, and dates.
Workshops fall under the tutelage of the Virginia Foreign Language Professional Development Framework, spearheaded by the Virginia Department of Education, with special emphasis placed on the Teacher Effectiveness for Language Learning (TELL) Project. Topics selected for these workshops are direct results of teacher-expressed needs and desires revealed through discussions and surveys conducted at various levels.
The workshops will be broadcasted from the Tucker Multimedia Center on the campus of Washington and Lee University to select schools, school divisions, community colleges, colleges, and universities across the state and beyond. Times of workshops/broadcasts will always be from 4:00 - 6:00 PM ET on workshop days.
Registration for the workshops will open on 01 September 2015 and will continue throughout the academic year. Inquiries about the workshops should be directed to Dick Kuettner, workshop organizer and Professional Development Chair and President-Elect for FLAVA, at email@example.com .
