Re: Community Outreach from the Special Committee of the Board of Trustees

On behalf of the W&L Board of Trustees, I hope you, your families and loved ones are safe and secure in these challenging times. As I said to you in my last letter, the Board's special committee is underway with its work, which will provide us with information and insight on the interaction between the university's history, name and symbols and evolving national attitudes about race, diversity and inclusiveness.

Input from W&L's community is crucial to our consideration of the implications of these issues for the university. We are now at a point where we would like to seek more information directly from you in the form of our official survey.

Tomorrow you will receive an email from the special committee's co-chairs, Craig Owens '76 and William Toles '92 '95L, with a unique link to this survey, which will assist with the collection and analysis of data that will help to inform the board's decisions.

Every voice is important. I encourage you to take the time to complete the survey and share your thoughts about W&L's future.
