I live in Oakton, Virginia with my family. My husband, Bob is also a W&L grad. I have a daughter, Elizabeth, who is a junior at Franklin and Marshall College and a son, Richard, who is a senior at Oakton High School.

When I graduated from Washington and Lee, I went straight to Wake Forest University for a MAED in Counseling. I worked briefly at a battered women's shelter and then worked for 5 years in the public schools in North Carolina. I stayed home with my children for a number of years and have been a preschool teacher for the last 10 years here in Northern Virginia.

Your program helped me appreciate differences in people whether it be religious, socio-economic, race, or nationality. My ability to write and conduct research was helpful in my graduate school program and exposure to books on many different topics has encouraged me to continued reading lots of different topics.
