Shepherd internships provide students with a community engagement experience in a domestic or international setting relevant to one’s academic trajectory or civic interests. Shepherd aims to provide opportunities for students to more deeply understand the causes and consequences of poverty in ways that respect the humanity of all people. While it is important for students to approach the experience with an eye towards professional development, it is equally important for students to understand that much learning will come in ways they least expect.
