Campus Programs Impact Areas and Service Days
The Nabors Service League's leadership model not only connects student volunteers to community opportunities, but also promotes reflection and collaboration among students with shared interests by way of a monthly meeting. These interest groups are called Impact Areas. Some months these meetings will focus in on the Rockbridge area and allow for sharing experience, recognizing any gaps in services, and brainstorming together on ways to meet community need. Other meetings will discuss domestic policy and how this issue manifests itself on a global scale. If you are interested in getting involved, create a volunteer profile through NSL to receive information about volunteer opportunities and our group conversations. The Impact Areas are:
- Community Development
- Education and Youth Enrichment
- Food and Shelter
- Health, Aging and Disability
- Strong Returns (Prison Reform)
Fall and Spring Nabors Service Days are intended to engage students to create a lasting impact in the local community. Fall Nabors Service Day is Saturday September 24th, 2016 and Spring Nabors Service Day is April 1st, 2017. Look for sign-ups in the Elrod Commons the week before the Service Day.
