For Students

The ARC Program

The ARC (Advanced Research Cohort) Program is aimed at select incoming first-year students to Washington and Lee with an interest in STEM areas. We invite these students to engage in a unique research opportunity: to work with faculty and current W&L students in conducting exciting original investigations. In addition to this intensive science research experience, the ARC program includes workshops on STEM careers, ethics, and policy questions, as well as a series of leadership seminars designed to empower students in both their academic studies and their overall impact on Washington and Lee. We seek to encourage both a strong sense of community and a cohort of student leaders in STEM areas.
