Software

The Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at Washington and Lee has used several applications in its research.  It is beneficial for those working in the lab to be familiar with the applications and to be able to work with them.

MATLAB

MATLAB is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numerical computation. Using MATLAB, you can solve technical computing problems faster than with traditional programming languages, such as C, C++, and Fortran.

Additional coding within MATLAB is used to run the olfactory experiments in this lab.

Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW)

LabVIEW is a graphic programming used to control and modify signals, control instruments, acquire and analyze data, and Maintain other engineering and scientific progress. Many experiments in the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab are designed and controlled using LabVIEW.

Software Manual: Basic instructions to design experimental procedures.

Software Modules: Coding samples that could be integrated together to create possible experiments. Users must have labVIEW program installed in their computers in order to use the modules.
