University Bluegrass Ensemble
Bluegrass and old-time string band music have a strong foundation and enduring legacy at W&L. The Bluegrass Ensemble offers an excellent opportunity to introduce W&L students and the broader community to the rich musical traditions our region has to offer.
University Orchestra
The University Orchestra at Washington and Lee University offers students the opportunity to perform alongside professional musicians and community instrumentalists, collaborating in the presentation of a diverse and dynamic range of orchestral works.
University Jazz Ensemble
The University Jazz Ensemble, directed by Terry Vosbein, was formed in 1996 and has grown steadily since its inception. The repertoire of the ensemble ranges from classics from the glory days of the big band to world premiere compositions.
University Wind Ensemble
The University Wind Ensemble is a symphonic band that is open to students and area residents. The Wind Ensemble presents at least two concerts on campus each year and takes tours in the US and abroad. Christopher Dobbins is the director.
