Professor Levy is interested in the intersection of scholarship and performance. In particular, her research focuses on the use of direct address in both classical and contemporary theater. Other areas of interest include editorial textual cruxes in Shakespeare and their potential effects on performance, and the use of rhetoric to define character.  She is currently working on two Shakespeare adaptations, one involving all three Hamlet texts, and the other combining the three parts of Henry VI with Richard III to focus on the story of Queen Margaret.
