War of the Roses: One Crown. Two Families. Three Armies. Five Actors.

We live in a world based in paper. Nothing is real until it is written. Laws, contracts, photographs, birth certificates - nothing is official or real until it is tangible and on paper. But paper burns...

Sweet Wag Shakespeare's original adaptation of the Henry VI plays, Shakespeare's War of the Roses, is a story of power, right to rule, succession, and horticulturally induced civil war. Using the small scale touring aesthetic, established by our predecessors, SWotR brings five women together to play over 40 characters and tell the story of civil strife that tore their world apart. The very act of story telling brings the war to life again, as the women who gather to remember begin to turn on one another, and themselves.
