Sakai Course Management System

What is it?

Sakai is the university's licensed course management software solution. It is an online software system that allows for storage and access of course content, modules for creating and administering tests and quizzes, an online gradebook, and more.

Who can use it?

Sakai is available to the entire campus community--students, faculty, and staff.

How do I get it?

In a web browser, go to and log in with your university credentials. All course sites are created in Sakai prior to the beginning of the semester. If you need assistance finding your course or assistance with any of the features of Sakai, please contact the ITS Information Desk in Leyburn Library at (540) 458-4357 or by sending an email to
