Computer Purchase Program

The University offers interest-free loans to purchase a personal computer and printer. Employees must have completed six or more months in a benefit eligible position. Loans may not exceed $4,000 and must be re-paid within 24 months through payroll deduction. For more information about this loan program, contact Suzannah Vess in Human Resources at x8348.

Tuition-free Courses at Washington and Lee

Washington and Lee University supports the academic achievement and professional development of its staff members. As evidence of that commitment, employees who have a high school diploma or the equivalent in regular full-time or regular part-time, benefit-eligible positions are eligible to take up to two Washington and Lee undergraduate or law courses per term without any tuition charge.

Home Loan

Full-time faculty members and full-time exempt employees are eligible to apply for University housing loans. These housing loans may be used to purchase, build or improve a principal residence in the Lexington-Rockbridge County area. The APR on a University-granted home loan is 25% less than the interest rate charged by Lexington financial institutions for residential mortgage loans.

Healthy Rewards

CIGNA offers discounts on health programs and services to W&L employees and their family members. Visit the Healthy Rewards website (password: savings) or call 1-800-258-3312 to receive a Healthy Rewards ID card, which you and your covered family members can present to any Healthy Rewards provider to access discounts on a range of health programs and services including weight management and nutrition, vision and hearing care, tobacco cessation, alternative medicine, mind/body, fitness, and vitamins, health and wellness products.

Local Food Options

Interested in eating locally? A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share is essentially a subscription to a farm or other local food supplier. The subscription format provides you with fresh, local produce (and eggs, cheese, meat, etc.) and allows farmers some predictability of demand and assurance that their hard work will end up eaten.

Identity Theft Protection

CIGNA's Identity Theft Program offers resolution services for individuals who have been victims of identity theft. If you suspect you might be a victim of identity theft, visit CIGNA's Legal Resource Center or call 1-888-226-4567 to speak to a personal case manager. Please indicate that you are a member of CIGNA's Identity Theft Program and Group #57.

Will Preparation Program

CIGNA's Will Preparation services are available at no additional cost to W&L employees. Visit CIGNAWillCenter.com to create a personalized estate and funeral plan including Last Will and Testament, Living Will, Health Care Power of Attorney, Financial Power of Attorney, Medical Authorization for Minors, and resources to help with funeral planning.
