Parents and Family Weekend at W&L Rachel Reibach '18
Parents' Weekend can be a stressful time for students, especially when faced with the challenge of showing family members around campus. The Parents' Weekend Friday night service and Sunday morning bagel brunch were the perfect opportunities to show parents the amazing Hillel community, as well as prove that we do eat food other than pizza here at W&L.
Jordan Goldstein '18 enjoys Shabbat Dinner with her parents, Rich and Suzanne.
Friday night began with a beautiful service led by Jordan Goldstein'18, with lots of student participation. The service was followed by a delicious dinner catered by the Southern Inn - fish, spinach, and wild rice (my personal favorite). While Shabbat dinners are always great, we really stepped it up for our families and showed that we know how to make Shabbat special here in Lexington.
After a relaxing Saturday, Hillel put on a Sunday morning bagel brunch, featuring cream cheese, lox, and all other bagel essentials. Most parents were preparing to get back on the road on Sunday, so the brunch provided a great way to end the weekend with some final family bonding. Overall, it was a great weekend, and it was great to have so many parents and family members in town, sharing in our love of Dubyahnell!
