For Prospective Undergraduates:

December 1
Merit Application Deadline- Johnson Scholarship applications are due for Early Decision I, Early Decision II, and Regular Decision applicants.

December 1
Early Decision I Applicants: Deadline for submitting the Need Based Application
Award notifications will be sent December 18, 2017.

January 15
Early Decision II Applicants: Deadline for submitting the Need Based Application. 
Award notifications will be sent February 2, 2018.

February 15
Regular Decision Applicants: Deadline for submitting the Need Based Application. 
Award notifications will be sent April 1, 2018.

Please note we do not accept application materials via fax or email.  You should mail your documents to our office at W&L Office of Financial Aid, 204 West Washington Street, Lexington, VA  24450.  We also accept documents via electronic upload.


For Current Undergraduates:

October 1, 2017
The FAFSA becomes available online for completion. Note: Please do not complete the FAFSA until all 2016 taxes are complete.

June 1, 2018
All need-based financial aid application materials must be received by the Office of Financial Aid. The application includes: 

  • FAFSA
  • CSS Profile - Complete at least one week prior to the deadline.
  • 2016 federal tax returns including all schedules, W-2s, 1099s, etc for parents and students
  • 2016 business tax returns including all schedules, K-1s, worksheets, etc, if applicable

Late June  
Financial Aid award letters will be available via the web at Aid Status Online as applications are completed.  Students who submit their applications after the deadlines will receive their award letters later in the summer.

 


For Law Students:

October 1, 2017
The FAFSA is available online.  For law students, this is the only document required to apply for need-based aid.

February 15, 2018
Applicants for the 2018-19 academic year are encouraged to submit their FAFSA by February 1, 2018.  Submission of the FAFSA by this date will ensure a timely response from the Office of Financial Aid

April 1, 2018
Returning students should submit their FAFSA application by April 1, 2018.
