Benefit to the Washington and Lee University and/or the surrounding community

Our organization benefits the surrounding community firstly through the loans that we intend to provide. Furthermore, we are developing financial education lessons that will accompany our loans so that we can provide a holistic service to the community, especially those in developing nations. Finally, it benefits W&L by allowing our students to engage in development work while still at W&L. Our students get hands on experience on how microloans work: from the selection process all the way to the collection. This experience can then be adapted for future careers, not only in microfinance or development but in finance, business, marketing and even media.
