Friends of the Harriman Ranch

Exciting internship position in Island Park, Idaho working with the relatively young 501(c)3 non- profit organization Friends of Harriman State Park (FHSP). Formed in 2010, FHSP is a citizen support group, which serves as a fundraising and volunteer partner for Harriman State Park of Idaho with a mission to work in cooperation with Harriman State Park to enhance and preserve its natural and cultural resources and its visitor experience. Harriman State Park is located in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem nestled within the Caribou-Targhee Forest Service and the Harriman Wildlife Refuge. The park is famous for fly fishing on the world renowned Henrys Fork of the Snake River, hiking, biking, horseback riding and cross country skiing. The intern will work with FHSP board members to increase public outreach by marketing and promoting the 5 year old 501(c)3 organization.

Duties include generating a first ever newsletter for FHSP; writing blogs and newspaper articles which involves interviewing project leaders and community members of the FHSP happenings throughout the summer; create marketing materials such as postcards, brochures and displays; managing contact lists; and reaching out through social media via photos and posts. Depending on experience, intern may design innovative website. Intern will need own transportation to and from residence. A thrilling opportunity with prospects of gaining valuable experience in the non- profit and state government systems.
