Wendy W. Lovell Director of Donor Relations

A native of Danville, Virginia, Wendy Lovell joined the development staff in 2018 after a nine-year stint with W&L’s Shepherd Program and 11 years as a freelance writer for University Advancement. She brings experience in public relations, and as a writer and journalist to the Development Office to ensure that donors experience high-quality interactions with the university that foster long-term engagement and investment. Wendy’s husband, Tom, also a W&L alumnus, is senior associate director of Alumni Affairs. They reside in Lexington with their children Owen and Taylor.
Education: Washington and Lee University, B.A.
Areas of Responsibility: Planning, executing, documenting and evaluating all donor relations and stewardship activities for the Office of University Development.
Hobbies/Interests: Reading, travel and supporting public education as a member of the Rockbridge County School Board
