Zoila Ponce de Leon Assistant Professor of Politics
Zoila Ponce de Leon is an Assistant Professor in the Politics Department at Washington and Lee University. She earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Professor Ponce de Leon teaches courses on comparative politics and Latin American politics. Her research focuses on the politics of social policy in Latin America, as well as political representation in Latin America and Western Europe. She uses both qualitative and quantitative methods to develop her research agenda. At Washington and Lee, she is also an affiliate faculty member of the Latin American and Caribbean Studies (LACS) Program.
