Jay Jackson was born in Lexington and grew up in Botetourt County. He originally joined W&L’s development staff in 2012, traveling in the south central region. After a stint helping his alma mater, James Madison University, begin the quiet phase of their first major comprehensive campaign, he returned to W&L in 2015. Jay’s previous development experience includes working during two capital campaigns at the University of Virginia. Prior to development work, he taught choral music and guitar in public schools. He previously covered Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana for W&L, as well as the cities of Memphis and Washington, DC. Jay and his wife Jeanne reside in Crozet, VA and are parents of two adult sons.

Areas of Responsibility: Jay is part of the leadership gifts team responsible for securing private support from alumni, parents and friends of the University.
