Melissa "Missy" Gentry Witherow Director of Annual Giving

Missy is a native Virginian and joined the Washington and Lee development office in 2015 after more than ten years of development work at her alma mater, Sweet Briar College, as well as extensive development volunteer leadership she held at Sweet Briar and St. Anne's-Belfield in Charlottesville. At Sweet Briar Missy started out in alumnae relations before moving into the college’s annual giving office. She later assumed leadership positions supervising leadership giving, annual giving and alumnae relations before finishing her time at Sweet Briar as interim vice president of alumnae and development.

Missy and her husband Lee reside in Ivy, Virginia and are the parents of two daughters.
