Jean Paul Mugabe Class of 2014 - Rwanda

What is best about Washington and Lee is that it is a small school and the relationships between students and faculty are close. The academics are stimulating and keep you interested and challenged. Everyone respects your space and lets you pursue your own interests. You can live your life as you wish with no pressure to do anything specific. The administration is flexible and understanding. The professors are helpful and you can ask them questions at any time, but you are expected to contribute in class. Lexington is a small town, so it is good to have our field trips as a diversion to get out of town and to see other parts of the United States. My recommendation for new students is to reserve time for fun and relaxation. Don't get too buried in your academics and don't put too much pressure on yourself.
