Kate Lester Mowery '06 '11L
Kate Lester Mowery is an associate at the Delaware law firm, Richards, Layton & Finger, P.A., working in the practice areas of complex commercial litigation, products liability, trade secrets and intellectual property. Her practice encompasses actions in the Delaware state courts and the District Court of Delaware. Kate is involved with the Federal Bar Association, Delaware State Bar Association and the Rodney Inns of Court. She completed the District Court of Delaware's Federal Trial Practice Seminar in 2015. She also serves as Vice President of Membership with the Junior League of Wilmington and is on the Alumni Board of her high school, Wilmington Friends School.
Kate graduated from Washington and Lee University magna cum laude in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and French and a minor in Women's Studies. She was captain of the Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams her senior year. After college, she worked as a paralegal in D.C. for two years before returning to Washington and Lee University's School of Law. She served as an editor for the Washington & Lee Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice, as vice chair to the Moot Court Executive Board, and as an honor advocate for the University's Honor System. She returned to Delaware, her home state, after she graduated from and clerked for the Honorable Joseph R. Slights, III on the Superior Court of Delaware.
